I love JESUS! I'm a 7th-generation Florida native, dyed-in-the-wool Southron belle. I just recently dusted off my genealogy notes and, thanks to a long-lost relative, nearly doubled the details. We started home schooling when only 'outlaws' did it and still enjoy a daily quest for knowledge. These days, the family spends a lot of time birding, butterflying, spending as much time in 'the woods' as possible while they're still here.
Looks like something from a horror film! Tomato or watermelon???
I have about 10 watermelons shooting up. I've never planted them before and am so excited at the thought of having a bunch of them in time for the 4th of July!
I just can't get into collards. This may sound really prejudiced or stereotypical, but the only collard greens I have eaten that I enjoyed were cooked by old black ladies. Years ago when I was a park ranger, I had an old lady named Miss Rose who brought some to me some to see if I'd like them They were wonderful! I've only had them a few times since, and none could compare.

Tomato? This is NOT an easy one, but I have spent plenty of my life examining cut tomatoes...

Sayre, it does look tomato-y. I'm never sure whether a pic will be too easy... knowing changes one's perspective. 8-}
SwampAngel, watermelon it is!
You need to get that recipe for collards. Did it have a big ol' ham hock in it? Or maybe fatback? I do love me some ham hocks. Mmmmmmmm!!!
The melon fields around here are growing like crazy!
I believe it had a ham hock in it. Wish I could get the recipe, but Miss Rose has passed on...sigh...
