Thank you, Meems!

Meems over at Hoe & Shovel has made my month by honouring Florida Cracker Crumbs with the Excellent Blog Award.

Blogging has opened up a whole new world for me. I tend to be a bit of an oddball amongst the local populace, so it's been great to find so many other oddballs around the world. Even better, I've been blessed with some wonderful friendships that completely transcend the boundaries of distance.

In accepting this award, I'm supposed to pass it along to 10 other blogs that I find interesting and well worth reading. There are so many AbFab blogs out there, narrowing it down to 10 is turning out to be more of a challenge than I imagined.

First, I have to say that Hoe & Shovel would have been on this list had Meems not picked me first. And now, I officially bestow the Excellent Blog Award upon:
*Florida Cracker at Pure Florida
*Steve at Balance - Celebration and Search
*Peggy at Kayak Paddle Tales
*Hurricane Teen at The Minorcan Factor
*SwampAngel at A Florida Journal
*Cathy, the Island Rider
*ThingFish at Taming of the Band-Aid
*Valown at Rural Wat
*Deborah Kunzie - Bird Photographer
*Joe at Culinary in the Desert... er, Country

I could easily pass this on to 10 more (if I weren't so far behind in blog-browsing). I'll catch up soonly... well, eventually... I promise. 8-} Meanwhile...

...have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

PS - I lost a link I meant to include, so I hope nobody will mind it I kinda bend the rules a tad and add one more Excellent Blog to the list...

Great job, Sophie.I LOVE your oddball-ness if that's what you call it.

I'm so glad you included FC over @ Pure Florida. I so wanted to give him the honor myself but kind of think of him as the type not to want the fuss made over him... you know him better than I do... but he definitely deserves the award even if he thinks it crosses the boundaries of his "no-nonsense" style.

I'll have to check out your other recipients too.

Visiting the fruits and exotics nursery tomorrow... so excited!

Ah thanks, Sophie! I'm honored that you think enough of my silly little blog to pass the award to me. I appreciate it so much!

So, now I have to pass it on to 10 others? Hmmm.....

Thanks for the mention and award. You an oddball? You seem pretty normal to me. Does that mean I might be....

Well let me chime in here too and thank you for including my blog! The feeling is mutual I subscribe to yours and don't miss a single post. I have yet to have a clue about the mystery photos, which may not say a lot about my perceptive abilities....

I also enjoyed visiting every other blog on your list--what great company you put me in!

Best,
Peggy

Sophie, you are so sweet to give me this honor! Thank you. Just being linked on your fine blog is enough. Truly good company indeed.

Thank You!

Finding you has been one of the highlights of blogging. And I'll echo Peggy in saying that is some mighty fine company to be in.

Meems cracks me up using the phrase "no nonsense" and "FC" in the same sentence.

I wish I could garden like she does!

Meems, did you make it to Just Fruits? I thought of you while it rained. Later, it occurred to me that I haven't been there in nearly 2 years and maybe I should have re-visited before recommending it. LOL!

SwampAngel, I really enjoy your 'silly little blog'. Even when it makes me homesick. 8-}

Valown, maybe we're not the oddballs after all... it's the rest of them... 8-}

Peggy, I so look forward to your travelogues. And your pictures always inspire me to get out there even more.

Steve, it's an honour well-deserved. Even though I all too often get behind on commenting, I check in regularly and am never disappointed.

FC, yours is the first blog I visit each day. You do Flarda proud!

I agree... I wish I had half Meems gardening talent.

Sophie: a million thanks for the heads up on Fruits and Exotics. What a wonderful place with very friendly help. Actually all of north florida is more friendly in general than down here. Have you found that to be true?

The rain only held us inside the covered garden center long enough for us to pick out some items we were looking for anyway. It cooled everything down wonderfully and we didn't skip a beat. Now my DIL has another resource for her garden with fruits and exotics on her list. Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Thank you for including me in your list. I saw this the day after you posted it, but didn't quite know what to say in my acceptance speech, so left feeling very humbled and honored. Perhaps the best thing to say is thank you and back at you!

Thanks so much for including me in this award - my first!! Yay!! I know I don't post every day, but I sure do read every day. There are blogs I can't miss every day - these people are like family, so I know what you mean about bloggy friendships.

Thanks, SohpieMae! Like Suze, it's my first award, and as luck would have it I received it from two wonderful people - you and the Contrary Goddess. WOW. I am honored and humbled and flattered and, well, all that.

Thanks, also, for sticking with me through the occasional droughts in posting.
