20 January 2008

easy like Sunday morning

Finally, we're supposed to get some sunshine today. Yesterday was rain, rain, rain. I've been ever so patiently waiting for a chance to break in the new camera. I did go to the refuge the other day, but it was engulfed in a heavy fog. Still, I took a few test shots posted here. There's a lot to learn with this one and I'm sticking with the auto setting for now. So far, I'm going back and forth between delight and disappointment. Time will tell. 8-]

Nice photos! I love the cardinal and the birds at the water's edge.

Wow, great shots, I especially love that cardinal picture. I know what you are going to be doing. Have fun.

I thought about going to the NWR recently and knew I would run into fog and generally drab conditions so I didn't. Frustrating time of year! Still, would have loved to see the mergansers.

We needed the recent rain, but it would be nice if it would warm up!!

Good luck with the camera!

Moultriecreek, thanks ever so! Even though the cardinals are common as dirt, they're still among my favourite visitors.

RCWB, the weather has been most uncooperative all week. I've been amazingly un-impatient... so far. Soon... very soon... 8-]

Thanks ever so, Peggy! I didn't expect much, but I just had to go. There were quite a few mergansers.

I do hope we get some relief from these freezing nights soonly! I've had about all my thin-blooded self can stand. 8-/

Awww...Dawg is a cutie!!! And i love the cardinal. They're all very nice!

It's been rainy and yucky and cold down here all weekend. Today, too. Blah! Makes me want to just stay in bed and watch old movies.

SwampAngel, it is so amusing when the dawg does her 'radar ear' thing.

I'm fighting that stay in bed urge myownself. I really need to get moving, but this weather has killed my gumption.

sophie: It DOES take time to learn all the new fangled features of a camera. At first it feels so foreign but before long it will be an extension of your arm. LOL

I took a peek at your test shots and - not surprising- you are well on your way to great photos. I look forward to all the fun you are going to share with us.

BTW- I sent you an e-mail a couple of weeks ago- did it get lost in cyberspace?

Meems, this one has SOOO much more to learn than the last one. And I was just getting used to all the features on it. LOL!

Major oops! When set up the laptop, That was the one email addy I forgot to put in outlook. I'll get back to you as soon as I weed through 3 weeks worth of backed up emails. *sheepish grin*
