Mystery solved

Suze was first to correctly guess that it was, indeed, a hummingbird beak. Two, actually. These two beauties were making use of the blooming wisteria vine just outside my kitchen window.

You wouldn't believe how wonderful those wisteria flowers smell! It's so nice to be able to open the windows again and let the sweet aroma flow through the house. Spring is far too quickly, though, edging into summer. Temperatures here hit 90 yesterday. Already! I do hope we have at least another month of windows that are open 24 hours.

I thought they were beaks...

My boy and I walked through our neighborhood and the smell of wisteria is nearly overwhelming - just lovely! This is the first year he's noticed it and he's quite impressed.

It is getting too warm for me already! I'm definitely a cold-weather girl!

Sayre, are you anywhere near the nenes? I just love to drive through there in spring, but have yet to make it up there this year. Normally, I'd find a scent like the wisteria cloying and not care for it, but this is soooo lovely! My whites are going crazy, but the purple is just getting started.
