Mystery solved

KellyRae is right! It's some moss on the underside of a piece of tree scrap.


I dragged the tripod out and got as close as the camera would allow. Personally, I think my previous camera did much better macros. Aren't the flowers pretty, though? I mean, how cool is that? 8-]

If any of y'all know just what its specific name is, I'd be much interested to know.
