I love JESUS! I'm a 7th-generation Florida native, dyed-in-the-wool Southron belle. I just recently dusted off my genealogy notes and, thanks to a long-lost relative, nearly doubled the details. We started home schooling when only 'outlaws' did it and still enjoy a daily quest for knowledge. These days, the family spends a lot of time birding, butterflying, spending as much time in 'the woods' as possible while they're still here.
I think Suze is right. The question is, what kind of bird? Definitely not a Kiwi, coz their naris is at the tip of the top mandible. :) Not a parrot or hawk; not a cardinal, for sure. Goodness, there are so many options!
I think Jena is on the right track. I'm guessing it's at least partially gray, so that narrows it down just a little. It's not a Great Blue and not an African Grey. If you were able to get that close, it must be something either very large or very bold. I'm going to go with bold and guess... a pigeon?

That's a bird beak - I think the nare is showing.
