Florida Factoid Friday

Florida is one of the few states to have won a championship
in every major league sport -
hockey, baseball, basketball and football.
Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup in 2004,
Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have both won the Super Bowl,
the Florida Marlins have won the World Series twice
and basketball's grand prize went to the Miami Heat in 2006.

Not everyone considers soccer a major sport in the US but a Florida team also won the 1975 North American Soccer League championship. The Tampa Bay Rowdies. Great State, great teams!

Florida info, very good. :)
Yes, we are on the Space Coast, we are in Melbourne actually. The water was beautiful yesterday and I took those pics with a cheapo camera (since I dropped mine in the garage last week after taking pics of Fay!!!!) - we are on the hunt for a new camera, lol. :)
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Nice facts! Oh, if we could only have another team like the '72 Dolphins, though!

Pete, thanks for dropping in! And thanks for that additional info! I'm not a real sporty kinda gal, so didn't know about the soccer. If I were into sports, I'm pretty sure I'd like soccer more than the 'majors'.

BP, thanks! I chose Olive Garden for my celebratory supper. Mmmm!!!

Kathy, I used to be your neighbour. Well, before you moved there, probably. 8-}

SwampAngel, I'm sure I'd agree if I had a clue about the subject. LOL!

FC, thanks ever so! It was yesterday and I'm ever so grateful there were no storms nearby. 8-]
