Aw, beautiful! What is the mammal? I feel really stupid because I can't ID it, but it's cute!

I love willets.
Is that one shot a marsh hen? Lucky you.
So many rodents in a marsh ... cotton rat? rare saltmarsh vole?

Sophie: you must be having a blast with that new camera ... and you have to love being so convenient to water sources. Beautiful birds and critters... thanks for sharing.

SwampAngel, it's some marshery rodent. I just call them mouses. Unless they're really large, then they're rats. 8-}

FC, yep, the rails have been unusually spottable this year. (Or I'm that much more observant.) I should have added captions before I scheduled it to post. The rodent... uuuhhhh... they're definitely not my forte.

Meems, I'm still getting to know the ins and outs of the camera. In my seniorial years, I seem to have become even more 'visual' than ever and actually reading the instructions is a royal pain. (And I'm already lusting after another one. LOL!)

I occasionally (rarely) THINK about living somewhere else, but I can't begin to imagine surviving without the Gulf nearby.

FC, I was pretty sure you felt the same.

Aunty Belle, thanks ever so for stopping by! So tickled you're enjoying my wanderings. I'm in the Big Bend area... within day trip distance from the capital. 8-]
