Independence Convention To Be Held In August

The Florida League of the South is excited to announce its Annual State Convention will be held on Saturday, 23 August 2008.

Today's choice of political candidates threatens now, more than ever, the very existence of our traditional way of life by those foreign to our soil and outside our sphere who know little or nothing of our heritage, our customs and our mores. They are not our people and this is not their land. Independence is our only protection from the changes certain to come. Now is the time to take a stand against an oppressive federal control.

The theme of this year’s convention is "From Reconstruction to Independence" and will be held at the Airport Holiday Inn in North Jacksonville, Florida

With the tremendous growth and national press coverage of the League of the South this past year as the largest "States' Rights" organisation in existence, the League has become a recognised leader in the effort to restore constitutional liberty here at home. If you're tired of constantly losing more freedom, we invite you to join us for this refreshing meeting of liberty-minded Floridians.

You will enjoy the slate of speakers for this year's epic event including Dr. J. Michael Hill, President of the League of the South; Pastor John Weaver, renowned motivational speaker from Fitzgerald, Georgia; Mr. Ray McBerry, President, Georgia League of the South and owner of Dixie Broadcasting Company. Be on hand to hear these dynamic messages!

All League members, former members, family, friends and the general public are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Gathering and registration begins at 10:00 AM. Don’t be late. Join ranks with The Florida League of the South in Jacksonville this August in our efforts to return home rule to Florida and our Beloved Southland.

Directions: From Interstate 95 in Duval County, take exit 363. Turn west onto Duval Road. Turn left at the first traffic light. The Holiday Inn will be on the immediate left at 14670 Duval Road.

Admission to the conference is free of charge.

If it wasn't so far away, I think I'd go and hear what they have to say. You'll have to give us a report!

Wonder why Jax. I would have thought either Tallahassee or Orlando would have been a more logical choice. If not so far, I would definitely attend.

SwampAngel, at this point, my chance of going is looking dim. Drat! >:\

Jean, I thought the same thing. I would love to go, but it's not likely.
