Siamese twin gulls!!!

DS and I took a little jaunt down to Port St. Joe the other day . They've spruced up their jetty park quite a bit since our last visit. On the way out, I had to slam on the brakes and back up for a better look at these conjoined birds. I couldn't believe my eyes... but there they were, big as life! I'm even more amazed that they have survived this long. Anomalies in nature are generally short-lived. After shooting about 3 dozen pics, I zipped right up to the nearest phone booth to notify FWC, then went back to wait for someone to come out and try to capture them. It wasn't easy, but with a bagful of stale bread, they finally lured the pair into their trap. They promised to let me know as soon as they find out whether the birds can be separated and to keep me updated on their progress.

Amazing! That's the kind of thing that only gets noticed by someone who's really paying attention...with binoculars cleaned and calendar turned to the first day of April!

Happy April Fool's to you too. I wish I had your phone number today as I breezed down 27 to 19 on my jaunt back home from a hopelessly depressing grant hearing. No money you know. Our state is broke. Anyway, I saw the sign for St. Marks and thought of you. Probably just as well. I had to get the county car back to the garage and get to class. No time for a nice long visit. Thanks for the laugh.

Hehehehehe!!! I got "had" too many times yesterday, so I'm not falling for that one! They are cute pictures though.

Was that really a joke? I was thinking how amazing that was - that they were smooth and healthy-looking, not bedraggled and too thin.

The last picture looks as if the guy on the right is embarrassed and the guy on the left is saying, "hey YOU, whatcha lookin' at, eh?"

Sayre, yeah, that was my late-in-the-day April Fool entry. I should've posted in the AM, before everybody had already been had.

FC, it had to be done. 8-]

Suze, the last one was my favourite shot. What a look!
