Here's what the forest looked like the day after the controlled burn. There were still a few flames flickering here and there, but the afternoon showers finished them off.
This is the road that runs along the firebreak at the back of our property. I'm hoping for nice weather tomorrow, so I can walk back there. It's been way too long.
Amid the blackness, a promise of spring. This Hypericum was blooming just inches from the edge of the ashes.
