Butter-butt

I finally got a Yellow-rumped Warbler to pose, briefly, for me. Closer would've been nice, but I'll take what I can get. Love that 12x zoom! You can see why its nickname is 'Butter-butt'. They're often seen in flocks, scouring the grass for insects. We've had one visiting this week that sits in the bare branches of a Sweetgum, flitting off and on, catching flying insects. Sure hope he's found a nice warm spot for the night, coz it's COLD out there! Almost down to 20 already, about 1 AM, and the sky is clear, so it's probably going to drop like a rock all night. Stay warm, y'all.

I think I was chasing this bird down the boardwalk at Manatee Springs today. My shots are fuzzier, but the yellow butt shown through.

That little beacon does make it easy to ID these guys, when they're not hiding it.
