27 November 2006

Well, I had a whole long post all typed out here and it just vanished. I hate it when that happens! Sorry I don't have the gumption to just do it all over again. Long story short...

After Thanksgiving dinner at Golden Corral - where I was the only one with enough sense to NOT pig out - Duller and DS took Gramma on the grand tour and I headed home. I stopped at one of my favourite parks and walked a while. I had loaned Gram my binoculars, so wasn't able to ID all the birds I saw. The usual gulls, cormorants, egrets, and herons were there. Also one Osprey, lots of Golden-crowned Kinglets, several White Ibis, and at least one Wood Stork. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I saw a Northern Harrier make a pass over the dam area.

Thanks ever so for y'all's comments, whether on here or by email. I hope those of you who just found me won't be discouraged that it was so long between posts. I don't normally stay away so long. 8-] Cathys, I am determined to make time to read more of your blog! And Hurricaneteen, as well. The crab in the last post, BTW, was munching on the scat of some unknown mammal. We've always referred to lobsters as cockroach of the sea, but we still eat them every chance we get. Then again, we haven't actually observed them during dinner hour.

Well, I have to get my truck up to the shop and find out why the CHECK ENGINE light came on today. Hopefully, it'll be simple and cheap. As soon as that's taken care of, I'll try to find some pics of our place here and tell y'all a bit about where we live. A couple of your comments made me realize I hadn't done that. Until then...

Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

Thanks. I hope you enjoy mine. There is a lot of stuff about work this month, but if you keep going back, there is more fun stuff. Keep posting!

Cathy, I am enjoying your blog a bunch. 8-] I can only manage to read a bit at a time. Too many irons in the fire right now.

Hurricanteen, that is Lake Munson, once one of the dirtiest lakes on the state.

Hi! Thanks for your comment on my blog! I use a Sony A-100 DSLR camera.

Last time I was at Lake Munson it was bright kelly green with algae bloom--is that gone? It looks like it in your pictures. I need to get back to see the wood storks but cannot stand that green color! I saw a wood stork on the Wakulla River once, but Munson is best for them.

I wish they'd clean up that lake!

I've been trying to picture your place since my 4 corners post. Your comment made me think it's a big chunk of land.
