Florida Factoid Friday

The second oldest town in Florida - oldest inland - is Micanopy. It was known as Cuscowilla (a Seminole village) when William Bartram visited in 1774 and later became Wanton's Trading Post. Micanopy, for whom the town was finally named, was the Seminole chief during the 2nd Seminole War.
